Richard Gavin (1974), canadese, scrive narrativa del mistero nella tradizione di Algernon Blackwood e Arthur Machen. Autore prevalentemente di racconti, ha al suo attivo cinque raccolte, tra cui At Fear’s Altar (Hippocampus Press, 2012) e Sylvan Dread: Tales of Pastoral Darkness (Three Hands Press, 2016), con storie legate al folk horror e alle modalità della ghost story. È anche apprezzato autore di testi esoterici e saggi che esplorano le basi filosofiche del genere horror, tra cui il recente The Moribund Portal: Spectral Resonance and the Numen of the Gallows, Three Hands Press, 2018, mentre nel 2015 è stato tra i curatori dell’antologia narrativa sui temi dell’occultismo Penumbrae: An Occult Fiction Anthology.
